Twinsie Tops

H&M Tops

Has it ever happen to you that when a trip to a favorite clothing store had given you shopaholic jitters as almost everything is on sale and find similar items in different designs had given you the urge to purchase 2, 3, or more of that same syle? *Raises hand* guilty as charged!

Yes, that happened to me once, as seen on exhibit A proof above. The only difference is, I didn’t purchase them at the same time. The pink rose top had haunted me in my dreams when I went home and hung the gray colored cropped top in my closet, having had doubts that I have purchased the wrong design, I went back to my favorite store, swiftly approached straight to the rack where the pink top was hung and looked for my size. And then that moment had strucked my senses as to questioning myself of “What size did I get for this top?”.

Funny, but it’s true. Our size varies depending on the cut, style, fabric, brand of any piece of clothing. One shopping mistake I always do is that I don’t usually try the clothes on for fitting before purchasing them. I thought I know my size by heart and that trying the clothes on would kill my shopping time.

And so I bought the pink floral top in a size that I knew was a perfect fit for me. Until, when I reached home and discovered that the gray top I had purchased before is one size smaller than the pink floral top. Because both were on final sale, I couldn’t return the other one back. Silly me, I know, but luckily, they are loose cropped tops made of 100% polyester from China (according on the tag) with designs that suit my taste and both fits my petite figure quite well.

I was surprised of the size I thought I was, which the floral pink top is labeled on. The top looked a bit more loose on me than the smaller sized gray one which is not my preferable size when it comes tops. But for this instance, the cut of the fabric and style for this type of size had complemented my body.

From this experience I have learned that other sizes can fit a person well too depending on how the fabric is cut, the type of fabric that’s being used, and how it is styled so it’s really important that before we purchase an item that it’s mandatory to try it on first to avoid mistakes such as this and to not stick to just one size that you know is best for you as every size is created differently.
