Chanel’s spring/summer haute couture 2016 is truly one of a kind with creations that are made perfect for the modern, strong woman. Each design is intrically embellished with quality beads, pearls, and metals that shone as if they were interwoven with the fabric.

Models such as Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and the rest were styled to match the doll house themed show wearing winged eyeliners, glowing skin, pale colored lips, and hair pulled into a “croissant” bun. The shoes worn were made of cork wedges, cut out in an unusual shape, which have added a bit of flair to the models’ strut on the runway, making them look like real life dolls.

For the accessories, it was kept to a minimum with just a rectangular pouch tied around the waist that is suitable for small items such as a cellphone for those who are social media savvy.

The overall look and feel of the show, in my opinion, was Star Wars-meets-Barbie-meets-Audrey Hepburn Era which was outstandingly executed in a fashionable way. Definitely we’ll look forward to more of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs as he is undeniably the world’s legendary couturier.
