In my previous post which is titled Modern Glam Maverick Signature Mock Up Bag, I have discussed my personal style for a future brand as well as designing a bag in relation to it, the types of fabric that can be used to make the bag as well as its production costs.

Now in this post I am presenting a sample of the Modern Glam Maverick Signature Bag. The difference with my mock up bag is that I was tasked to use a cheaper kind of fabric which is either muslin or canvas. Since I want my bag to have a more structured design, I have opted to use a dark brown canvas which is in a medium or heavy weight category for the bag to be able to stand in an upright position.

The challenge is to design the bag using only stripes, either by hand painting or any materials that can exhibit this. I have chosen to use ribbons and embellishments to do a horizontal design on my bag. Since I don’t own yet a sewing machine that can sew thick fabrics, I have managed to construct this bag through hand stitching.

This is the first time I have made a bag and as you can see the shape is a lot more different compared to my mock up bag. I guess I would need to make another bag which is in the exact same shape as my mock ups and probably a different design. For this time, I am quite okay with the result of my sample bag, not the result I wanted it to be but it could be better. A round shaped bag would look more appropriate in this design, don’t you agree?

Below is the production cost of making the bag and its estimated retail price.
